Buni Zom- Hindukush Chitral
The Buni Zom group is a notable mountain range in Chitral, Pakistan, within the Hindu Raj range. The highest peak, Buni Zom, stands at 6,542 meters (21,463 feet) and is located about 50 kilometers (30 miles) northeast of Chitral, near Tirich Mir, the tallest peak in the Hindu Kush at 7,708 meters.
This group features several peaks, with 12 of them rising above 6,000 meters (19,700 feet) that remain unclimbed. Buni Zom is recognized for its steep, rugged faces and glaciated slopes, making it less frequently ascended compared to nearby peaks like Tirich Mir or Noshaq.
The area presents many opportunities for modern alpinists, with challenging routes that involve rock, snow, and ice skills.
